Abstract: The purpose of this study is to establish whether there is a relationship between the cervical control control deficit, proprioception and pain in this area. The hypothesis raised was that students with pain (VD +) had a lower motor control and proprioception than those who performed the same activity but without pain (VD-) and that people who do not play any instrument and also have no pain (NM).

Material i metòdes
Resultats
Conclusions

Introduction
The purpose of this study is to know if there is a connection between a lack of cervical motor control, proprioception and pain in this zone. The hypothesis was that students with pain (VD+) had less motor control than students who practiced the same activity but without pain (VD-) and people who don't play any instrument and don't have pain.
Objectives
- Study if there is an association between cervical pain and motor control in violinists/violists.
- Analyze the association between propioception and cervical pain.
- Observe the connection between motor control and cervical propioception.
- Analyze if there is any difference in motor control and propioception between musicians and no-musicians.
Methods
We have requested the collaboration of violin and viola students from the Conservatories and Music Schools from Camp de Tarragona and also people who don't play any instrument. This study has been made from November 2017 until May 2018. All the participants were asked to answer some questionnaires (NDI, VAS, STAI, PSFT) and two tests, the CJPET and the CCFT.
Results
We observed a significative statistical connection between cervical pain and motor control in violin and viola students. There was also a relation between violin students without pain and people who don't play any instrument in proprioception (left rotation movement).
Discussion and Conclusions
The results determine that a treatment based in the training of the deep cervical musculature would improve motor control and proprioception. This would decrease cervical pain and raise functionality and the students' quality of life.
