Abstract: The concept of hippotherapy comes from the Greek word "hippos" = horse and " therapeya" = therapy. It refers to a complementary therapy that covers different areas of action within physiotherapy and other professions in the field of health. It enables work in the motor, sensory, psychological, and social areas of child and adult development.
Abstract : El concepte d’hipoteràpia prové del terme grec “hippos” = cavall i “therapeya” = teràpia.

Material i mètodes
Conclusions

Introduction
The concept of hippotherapy comes from the Greek word "hippos" = horse and " therapeya" = therapy. It refers to a complementary therapy that covers different areas of action within physiotherapy and other professions in the field of health. It enables work in the motor, sensory, psychological and social areas of child and adult development.
Objective
To verify the positive correlation between hippotherapy and alterations in sensory processing in children with different neurodevelopmental pathologies.
To investigate the scientific evidence between hippotherapy and alterations in sensory processing.
Material and methods
This procedure was carried out by means of a bibliographic search in the two fields described above, followed by a unified search and finally by the presentation of two clinical cases.
Results
Hippotherapy is a complementary therapy that allows working on sensory integration, from a more lucid environment and with vestibular stimulation. Millions can be seen in the social, physical or cognitive-behavioral spheres. But there are few studies that relate these two fields in the direct bibliographic search, although they do talk about the items in some cases, especially with psychic patients, but not explicitly.
Conclusions
Hippotherapy is a good therapy to address sensory integration, but its efficacy is not directly evidenced. Therefore, there is an avenue for research and the need for future studies on the relationship between hippotherapy and sensory integration, both with patients with mental and physical impairments.
