Resumen

En esta ponencia, el presidente de la IOAPT hablará sobre el papel de este grupo de especialidad de la World Physiotherapy así como sobre la importancia de los Grupos de Interés/Especialidad Nacional y cuál es el camino futuro de la fisioterapia acuática, a qué retos nos enfrentamos y cuáles son las oportunidades de crecimiento en esta área cada vez más demandada para la rehabilitación de nuestros pacientes.

Introducción

La fisioterapia acuática es una especialidad en crecimiento dentro del campo de la rehabilitación, reconocida por su efectividad en una variedad de patologías. La International Organisation of Aquatic Physiotherapists (IOAPT), como parte de la World Physiotherapy, juega un rol crucial en el desarrollo y promoción de esta especialidad. Los Grupos de Interés/Especialidad Nacionales complementan este esfuerzo a nivel local, facilitando la implementación de mejores prácticas y fomentando el crecimiento de la especialidad.

Objetivos

El principal objetivo de esta presentación es analizar el impacto de la IOAPT y los Grupos de Interés Nacionales en la evolución de la fisioterapia acuática. Se pretende identificar los desafíos actuales, las oportunidades emergentes y cómo estos grupos pueden influir positivamente en el futuro de esta especialidad.

Material y métodos

La metodología incluye una revisión de la literatura reciente sobre fisioterapia acuática y un análisis de las iniciativas emprendidas por la IOAPT y diversos Grupos de Interés Nacionales. Además, se incluirán datos obtenidos de encuestas y entrevistas a profesionales de la fisioterapia acuática, tanto a nivel internacional como nacional.

Resultados

Los resultados preliminares indican que la IOAPT ha tenido un impacto significativo en la unificación de prácticas y en la promoción de la fisioterapia acuática a nivel global. Los Grupos de Interés Nacionales han mostrado ser fundamentales para adaptar y aplicar estas prácticas en contextos locales, promoviendo el crecimiento y la especialización de los profesionales.

Discusión

La discusión se centrará en las barreras actuales para el desarrollo de la fisioterapia acuática, incluyendo la falta de recursos, la necesidad de más investigación y la variabilidad en el reconocimiento de la especialidad entre diferentes países. También se discutirán las oportunidades, como la creciente demanda de rehabilitación acuática y la posibilidad de crear redes internacionales más sólidas para el intercambio de conocimientos.

Conclusiones

La colaboración entre la IOAPT y los Grupos de Interés Nacionales es vital para el futuro de la fisioterapia acuática. A pesar de los desafíos, existen múltiples oportunidades para el crecimiento y la mejora de esta especialidad, lo que beneficiará a pacientes en todo el mundo. Es esencial continuar fomentando la investigación y la formación de redes para asegurar el avance continuo en esta área.

Introduction

Aquatic physiotherapy is a growing specialty within the field of rehabilitation, recognized for its effectiveness in treating a variety of conditions. The International Organization of Aquatic Physiotherapists (IOAPT), as part of World Physiotherapy, plays a crucial role in the development and promotion of this specialty. National Interest/Specialty Groups complement this effort locally, facilitating the implementation of best practices and fostering the growth of the specialty.

Objectives

The main objective of this presentation is to analyze the impact of IOAPT and National Interest Groups on the evolution of aquatic physiotherapy. The aim is to identify current challenges, emerging opportunities, and how these groups can positively influence the future of this specialty.

Materials and Methods - The methodology includes a review of recent literature on aquatic physiotherapy and an analysis of initiatives undertaken by IOAPT and various National Interest Groups.
