Abstract: Cancer survivors are at increased risk of health problems as a side effect of chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy. Physical exercise has proven to be a tool to improve quality of life and reduce the side effects of the oncological process. Nordic Walking (NW) transforms a simple walk into a more complete and efficient physical activity, without modifying the natural movement, and without creating contraindications, respecting the biomechanics of human movement.

1.- Improve the physical, psychological and social capacity of the patient with a Nordic Walking program (NW).
2.- Enhance physical activity to improve the quality of life after an oncological process.
3.- Offer physiotherapy care in an environment outside the hospital.
Methodology
Patients are derivated from oncology to perform NW, an initial assessment is realized by the rehabilitation doctor and the physiotherapist, a test 6MWT (6Minutes Walking Test), Stair Borg for dyspnea. Patients who are included in the program perform 3 NW sessions per week, a period of 2 months. During the exercise, the heart rate (HR) is controlled through clocks programmed to work between 60 and 80% of the maximum HR.
All patients sign an informed consent for research.
Results
The data collected from 2015 to 2019 have been valued. At the end of the NW program, an assessment is made at 1 month, 6 months and 1 year. In the 6MWT test there is little difference in the meters traveled and dyspnea, but a better tolerance of the HR.
We can positively value the importance of physical exercise. In the evaluations carried out, we observed 1 month, of 82 patients evaluated. 76 performed physical activity (31 NW), at 6 months 60 of the patients assessed, 54 continued with physical activity and a year of 31 patients assessed, 27 performed physical activity.
Conclusions
Nordic Walking can be an activity that helps improve the well-being of an oncological patient, recover daily activity and in some patients return to working life, in a pathology that affects all ages.
