Material i métodos

Introduction
Stroke is a disease that has a great impact on the level of activity and participation, with repercussions on the quality of life. To date, there are no multicenter studies carried out in different cities that observe this impact on the stroke population.
Objectives
To review the design of a multicenter study, prior to its implementation in 20 centers in different cities, which aims to analyze the multifactorial relationship of the variables that may influence the levels of activity and participation in the stroke population.
Material and methods
Seven centers from different parts of Spain participated in the pilot of this multicenter research project.
Each center was supervised by the Principal Investigator (PI), who provided training to unify criteria in the administration of the assessment tools.
The Professional Principal Investigator (PPI) of each center contributed to the data collection of a participant with stroke. Prior to and after data collection, they participated in checking the design and suitability of the assessment tools selected, verifying the manuals, and recording any incidents detected.
A search of the main assessment tools that record physical activity and participation was carried out.
After considering inter-observer reliability, administration time, simplicity, and data provided, the following assessment tools were selected and grouped into 3 blocks through questionnaires in the P4Work application.
Each participant in the study was monitored for 14 days with the Fitbit inspire 2 activity wristband. The data was recorded at 3 different points in time.
Block 1 and 3 were done by the IPP and block 2 by the IP.
Results
On the one hand, the pilot study made it possible to detect incidences in the design of the research project and to assess the suitability of the assessment tools selected. On the other hand, it has made it possible to unify criteria in the administration of these tools and to draw up manuals for their implementation on a large scale through a large-scale multicenter study.
Conclusions
It is important to carry out observational studies to determine the level of sedentary lifestyles and participation in the Spanish stroke population. However, this requires a large sample to analyze the multifactorial relationships that may influence such behavior.
