Abstract: Locomotor recovery after spinal cord injury depends on the interaction between residual descending commands, peripheral afferent input, the excitability of spinal circuits, and activity-dependent plasticity. In this context, neuromodulation strategies applied to gait training aim to optimize the functional state of spinal networks, facilitate motor activation, and enhance the effects of specific locomotor training (1,2).
