Abstract: Sexual health is an essential dimension of well-being and quality of life, yet it remains largely neglected in the management of fibromyalgia. Evidence suggests that changes in sexuality among women with fibromyalgia are influenced not only by pain and other physical symptoms, but also by psychological, relational and sociocultural factors linked to gender. In response to this unmet need, Fibrowalk-Gender Sexuality was developed as a multicomponent protocol designed to integrate sexual health and a gender perspective into the treatment of fibromyalgia. Objectives To design a multicomponent protocol aimed at improving sexual health in women with fibromyalgia by integrating scientific evidence, patients lived experiences and expert validation, while incorporating a gender perspective as a cross-cutting component.
Abstract : La salud sexual constituye una dimensión esencial del bienestar y la calidad de vida, aunque continúa siendo un aspecto ampliamente desatendido en el abordaje de la fibromialgia. La evidencia sugiere que las alteraciones de la sexualidad en estas mujeres están influenciadas no solo por el dolor y otros síntomas físicos, sino también por factores psicológicos, relacionales y socioculturales vinculados al género. Ante esta necesidad surge Fibrowalk-Gender Sexuality, un protocolo multicomponente diseñado para integrar la salud sexual y la perspectiva de género dentro del tratamiento de la fibromialgia.
